Newington, Conn. native Shelby Payanis is a multimedia journalist with a love for being on-air. She has reported on several social justice issues in the Rhode Island area during her time at Roger Williams University, and has also reported on the Presidential Election as a part of the award-winning Hawk The Vote team during the Fall of 2016. In addition to reporting, Shelby also worked with the Rhode Island Lottery as an On-Air Talent during her time in college.

Telling the stories of people with little to no voice is crucial in the news industry, but so often these stories are covered up and pushed aside. Shelby's goal is to bring these stories to light during her career as a reporter.
